Masih dalam konteks dunia jejaring sosial pada umumnya, Google Buzz menawarkan kemudahan dimana kita bisa berbagi tulisan, foto, tautan bahkan video. Hanya bedanya kali ini semua bisa Anda lakukan dengan hanya menggunakan Gmail saja. Tanpa perlu repot mengatur ini itu. Pihak Google sendiri berharap dengan adanya mengedepankan sisi familiar Gmail dan kepopulerannya akan membuat Google Buzz lebih mudah diterima dan dicerna para penggunanya dalam waktu singkat. Gmail yang kini sudah digandrungi oleh 180 juta pengguna di seluruh dunia, tanpa ragu lagi membekali Google Buzz dengan 5 fitur andalan untuk berkompetisi di dunia jejaring sosial.

Fitur pertama yaitu Auto-following. Fitur ini secara otomatis membangun jaringan sendiri tanpa Anda perlu repot untuk mem-follow seseorang untuk saling terhubung. Google Buzz secara otomatis akan menghubungkan Anda dengan orang-orang yang biasa Anda ajak chatting atau kirim email menggunakan akun Gmail Anda. Sudah tentu ini berarti, hanya orang-orang terdekat Anda lah yang bisa mengakses konten Anda, jadi Anda tak perlu takut akan muncul spam-spam yang tidak jelas sumbernya.

Fitur kedua yaitu integrasi Gmail itu sendiri. Gmail kini memang mengalami banyak sekali perkembangan dari waktu ke waktu. Apalagi dengan penambahan fitur Google Buzz, kabarnya saat ini saja Google Buzz sudah terintegrasi dengan Picasa, Google Reader, Flickr dan juga Twitter. Di masa mendatang pihak Google pun ingin mengintegrasikan Google Buzz dengan yang lainnya lagi.

Fitur ketiga merupakan konsep perpaduan dari kemampuan yang dimiliki oleh Facebook dan Twitter, dimana kita bisa melakukan public dan private sharing. Dari Twitter, Google mengadaptasikan kontennya ini agar bisa di-index nantinya sehingga akan terlihat topik apa yang populer saat ini. Sedangkan dari Facebook, Google mengadaptasikan konten yang dikirim bisa ditujukan kepada orang-orang tertentu saja yang ingin Anda ajak berbagi.

Fitur keempt mengintegrasikan inbox dan item Buzz itu sendiri. Setiap percakapan di dalam kelompok Gmail beserta komentar-komentar akan masuk ke inbox. Ditambah lagi, adanya tambahan Recommended Buzz, yang merupakan cara otomatisasi konten yang mungkin saja akan membuat Anda tertarik atau sedang populer di kalangan teman-teman Anda.

Fitur kelima merupakan perluasan ke dunia mobile.
